A Picture Book with a Twist

I’m sure you are like me, and you like to be surprised. I Will Read to You written by Gideon Sterer and illustrated by Charles Santoso is a picture book with has a fun twist. This little boy loves hearing spooky stories about monsters. But his kind heart wonders who tucks the monsters in bed? Who reads to them? The little boy knows what he must do. He calls every type of spooky creature imaginable and reads to them. The creepy monsters actually look adorable. It was such a fun twist for a child to think about the poor little monsters having no one to tuck them in at night. I think children and adults would love this book. It has that delicious creepiness that many children crave, yet it is tempered with such kindness that what comes through loud and clear is everyone and everything needs to be loved.
