Carpe Dogem
As we come into the Holiday Season, I take a deep breath. It is a time I assess all the people and animals in my life that offer me such love and acceptance. I feel so very blessed. What helps me de-stress at this very busy time of year is my dogs.
I have always been a checklist girl. I tend to be a type A, goal-oriented, person but that means most of the time I have one foot in the future. Dogs don’t do that. They live in the present. They don’t perseverate on past hurts or focus on next week or even the next day. We need to live more like dogs.
Really squeeze all the life out of each day. Go to bed with peace, kisses, and tail wags. Look, and I mean really look at people. Let them know they matter. You can see such love in a dog’s eyes. Take a moment to do a kindness for someone if you can.
In this hectic and upside down world my dogs keep me centered. Every day we have together matters. So I want to be more like a dog. Live for the day. Enjoy each day. Love the stuffing out of life!
