Christmas in March?

Christmas miracles, suspense, talking dogs, soccer...a little something to brighten your spirit at any time!

For those of us in Picture Book World , March is Contest Month and the last chance to submit a Christmas story to editors and agents. Seasonal stuff is well….seasonal. I’ve learned the best time to submit a Christmas story is January-March because editors and agents need to plan ahead.

This led me to write my first Christmas story LEO AND MISTLETOE SAVE CHRISTMAS. Here’s the pitch to this potential book:

Leo is determined to bring Christmas spirit back to his town when he writes to Santa for a Christmas miracle. Santa sends his dog, Mistletoe, to help Leo, but a terrible winter storm presents a perilous challenge in this heartwarming tale about Christmas magic.

This story combines some of my personal favs-Christmas, fantasy, suspense, and dogs.

I am one of those nostalgic saps who watches Christmas movies almost all year around. They just make me feel so happy, and who doesn’t need a little “happy?” I love magic and talking animals, especially dogs. I’m sure one reason I am committed to the challenging world of picture book authors is because I’m a kid at heart.

Fingers crossed you’ll see this book in the future at a bookstore near you.

Oh, and Merry Christmas!
